This Tuesday, September 14th, is primary day. The UFA is concentrating on two important races. The first is the 34th Senate District. We will need volunteers to turn out and support Steve Kaufman. The other important race is the 17th Congressional District. We need to turn out and support Kevin McAdams.
Additionally on Sunday, September 12th, we will be doing literature drops and phone banking for both candidates. It is important to turn out for these events. There are a lot of unions that will be turning out, and the ones that turn out the most members will also be the most effective in getting their legislation passed. Members should wear UFA or fire department t-shirts to identify themselves to potential voters. All off-duty members should turn out.
Steve Kaufman Campaign - Democratic and Republican Primary.
We will operate out of the Villa Barone Manor. It is located at 737 Throgs Neck Expressway, in the Bronx. Volunteers are needed all day. 6 AM - 9PM. There will be a UFA coordinator on site. Food and Beverage will be provided.
Kevin McAdams Campaign - Democratic Primary
We will operate out of Rory Dolan's. It is located at 890 McLean Avenue, in Yonkers. UFA members are needed as Election Day poll watchers. We need people who can spend time at a polling place in the Bronx (either morning, afternoon, or evening) on September 14th. This position only requires that the person be a registered New York voter of any party. The shifts run from 6 am to 12 noon, 12 noon to 5 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Food and Beverage will be provided.

Please make sure to get out and vote for these candidates if you live in the district and are registered in the respective parties. These are the only two other districts that the UFA is supporting candidates in the primary. More endorsements will follow for the General Election in November.
