On December 3rd, in response to our November 30th letter, a phone conference was conducted with U.S. District Court Judge Dora Irizarry, the Judge handling our case.

In response to arguments from our lawyer Steve Morelli, and in response to a City attorney, the Judge indicated her concern over the Constitutional issues raised by the UFA and noted that she saw it "as a very serious issue affecting the lives and well-being of New Yorkers”.  She further indicated that she would move this matter to the front of her calendar, and render a decision on the underlying motion for partial summary judgement as soon as possible.  At the very least, the UFA has succeeded in getting the Court to understand the importance of this issue, and the necessity of rendering a decision expeditiously.
