According to N.Y. Times of January 25th, NYC Dept of Investigation (DOI) will be part of the investigation of the tragic Bronx fire this past weekend. Upon checking, we have learned that its role will be limited to determining whether the building and its layout were code compliant. If this is all the DOI is going to do, we see no problem for our members. However, in the unlikely event that a member is asked to be interviewed by DOI, that member should not consent without first contacting the UFA and obtaining proper representation.
