Full Manning Restored - NY Daily News Boycott a Success - Cassidy & Von Essen on NY-1 TV tonight

The Department has informed the UFAthat manning will return to a full complement of C + 60 effective Wednesday, February 2nd.

NY Daily News Boycott a Success

The UFA Executive Board thanks the entire membership for your unified efforts in making our boycott a success. The UFA has communicated with the Daily News Editorial Board, which agreed to publish a full rebuttal by the UFA to their negative and grossly inaccurate editorial regarding our members weeks ago.

As a result of your collective efforts, we believe that the pressure you helped generate will result in more balanced coverage of issues that are important to our members. This unedited rebuttal was published on January 31st. A reproduction follows this page, and will be mailed to all firehouses.

The boycott's effectiveness accomplished our goals and will now be suspended as a show of good faith on our part. We will continue to do whatever it takes to protect the interests of our members.

Cassidy & Von Essen on NY-1 TV tonight

Inside City Hall airs tonight starting at 7pm. Steve Cassidy is scheduled to be interviewed regarding matters important to all NYC Firefighters. The interview is expected to run some time between 7:15 and 7:30. Also, an interview with former Fire Commissioner Tom Von Essen is scheduled to immediately follow.
