1. Marty & Tom Celic Memorial Run
On Saturday, September 4th at 10am the 34th Annual Celic Run will be held at Clove Lake Park, Staten Island. The race honors Firefighter Marty Celic, who made the supreme sacrifice on July, 10, 1977 and his brother Tom who was killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. The race is 4 miles. 2. Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance
On Sunday, September 5th at 9am, there will be a mass followed by a Walk of Remembrance in honor of Father Mychal Judge. The Mass will be held in the Lower Church of St. Francis of Assisi, 135 West 31st Street. Following the mass, the "Walk" will proceed to St. Peter's Church, located at the corner of Barclay & Church Streets. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend. 3. 2nd Annual World Trade Center Run to Remember
REMINDER: On Sunday, September 5th, at 11am on Governor's Island the 2nd annual World Trade Center Run to Remember will take place. The event includes a 5K run, a 3K family fun run/walk, children's fun run, and family entertainment. All proceeds of the event will benefit 9/11 charities. 4. Fundraiser for Jake Amato
On Thursday, September 9th at Mulcahy's of Wantagh, 3232 Railroad Avenue, from 7-11pm there will a benefit for Jake Amato, 8 yr. old son of Ken Amato (E-274). Jake was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and is awaiting a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. Tickets: $50 include food, beverages, live music, raffles, auctions and more. 5. Softball Battle of the Badges
On Saturday, September 18th at 11am, at MCU Park located at 1904 Surf Ave there will be a softball battle of the badges tournament between the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD, and NYCD. Tickets: $10.
