Bronx Protests Green Beret Decision & Welcomes Your Participation

The Executive Board would like to wish you and your families the very best on this St. Patrick's Day. The Department, in another ridiculous move, has banned the wearing of the Green Beret's by our Brothers in the Bronx. I have spoken with Staff Chiefs and the Commissioner's people and there is no changing their minds on this irrational policy.

After a special Bronx meeting held last night, Bronx Trustee Eddie Brown says the Bronx will not be marching in this year's parade as a protest of the Department's policy. The Bronx members will muster on 82nd St. & 5th Ave. - not in official uniform - and will be wearing their green berets. Any of the Brothers wishing to support them are welcome.  The UFA Executive Board will be there with them to support the protest.

The Department has threatened disciplinary action against our members if they violate this petty rule. If you're an active member, don't give the Department a chance to penalize you.

Fraternally.
