Mandatory All Member Turn-Out for Chief Pete Hayden

How many times have you asked: “When will one of our Chiefs stand up to City Hall on behalf of our members?” Chief of Department Pete Hayden did just that when he spoke out against the Bloomberg administration decision regarding the new Citywide Incident Management System that puts politics ahead of public and Firefighter safety.

Chief Hayden reported in the N.Y. Times that it “is a recipe for disaster”. He has been subpoenaed by City Council to testify on Monday about the CIMS document. His career is on the line because he did what he knew was right.

On Monday, May 9th , at 10am, we need to turnout ALL off-duty and retired members, in Class A uniform, to City Hall on the Broadway side. Although only a small number of members will be allowed in the Council Chamber, we will gather on Broadway with the UFOA members in support of Chief Hayden.

Delegates are asked to see that each member of your company is personally called over the weekend:

--------THIS IS AN ALL-MEMBER CALL FOR TURNOUT!!!----------

Fraternally.
