Duty Schedule/Details

This is an explanation of certain unclear descriptions in the Mayor’s press release summary yesterday:

The tentative UFA agreement specifies that the Dept’s existing practice of detailing FFs off the chart, such as for training and light duty, shall continue as per current Dept practice. Details for any other purpose which it has not done in the past are in violation of the tentative agreement.

This provision settled several UFA grievances where we achieved a financial credit for something the Dept has been doing for many years—and does not preclude or prevent the UFA from challenging any new assignment which deviates from the chart.

A full explanation of this will follow in the materials which the UFA will provide for each Delegate.

Fraternally.

Joseph A. Miccio
Recording Secretary
