1. UFA Contract Ratified: 86% YES, 14% NO

Membership turnout' in this voting process was high, as 77% of all active UFA members voted. Of that 77%, 86% voted in favor of ratifying the new 50-month contract, which is retroactive to June of 2002, and 14% voted against it. The 77% consisted of 6094 members voting favorably, and 829 against. The vote breakdown by borough is as follows:

The high member turnout and 86% favorable vote to accept this contract is a clear indication to the City that New York City Firefighters stand united. Thank you for taking part in this important process!

2. Retro Money Dates & Deferred Comp (457 & 401k)

A special 65-2 will be published shortly regarding retro pay dates and 457/401k plans, once confirmed from HQ Payroll & OLR. As detailed in 65-2 #111, members who wish to adjust the Deferred Compensation (457) & 401k contributions need a PIN # and should call client services 212-306-7760. If you do not have a PIN #, please call client services. They will provide you with one via mail in order for you to adjust your plan instantly over the telephone. It will take up to 7 days for your PIN number to arrive in the mail.
