1. Ret. FF Roy Chelsen Fundraiser
On Sunday, October 25th from 1-6pm at the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility located at 900 Kings Highway in Warwick, NY 10990 a fundraiser for Ret. FF Roy Chelsen will be held. Roy helped save many lives on September 11, 2001 and now he needs help. Roy has multiple myeloma cancer and needs a marrow or stem cell transplant. Donation: $20, includes food & beverages. 2. 43rd Anniversary Of 23rd Street Fire
REMINDER: On Saturday, October 17th at 10am, the Department will commemorate the 43rd Anniversary of the 23rd Street Fire, at which twelve members of the Department made the Supreme Sacrifice on October 17, 1966. The ceremony will take place at the location of the fire, 4 East 23rd Street (corner of Broadway). All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
3. BC Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation
REMINDER: On Saturday, October 17th, 6:30pm, the Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation will hold its 6th Annual Dinner Dance at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset. The BC Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation, "Angels For Autism," offers hope to families with autistic children. Tickets: $125. A raffle will also be held. 4. Chief Ray Downey Heroes Football Classic
On Saturday, October 24th the 8th Annual Chief Ray Downey Heroes Classic football game will be held. The Division 1-AA football game will played at the University of Stony Brook. The Stony Brook Seawolves will play Coastal Carolina at 3:30 pm. Tickets are FREE when you present your FDNY ID card as well as any Military / Emergency Services ID. 5. NYC Marathon
Any member running in this year's NYC Marathon, who would like to use the Department's bus, is asked to call the Health & Fitness Unit, 212-360-4451, ASAP to reserve a seat. A limited number of seats are available. The bus will be leaving from Park Central Hotel, at 57th St & 7th Ave at 6:00am on Marathon Sunday, Nov 1.
