1. 1st Annual World Trade Center Run to Remember
On Sunday, September 6th, on Governor's Island the 1st annual World Trade Center Run to Remember will take place. The event includes a 5K run, a 3K Family Fun Run/Walk, Children's Fun Run, and Family Entertainment. All proceeds of the event will benefit 9/11 charities. 2. FDNY Night at Citi Field
On Friday, September 18th at 7:10pm the Mets vs. Nationals. To purchase tickets, visit www.mets.com/groups Sign-in ID: FDNY. Password: METS. Both Sign-in & Password are in ALL CAPS. 3. FDNY Triathlon 2009
REMINDER: On Sunday, September 20th at 7am sign in will begin at Orchard Beach. The race will include a half mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. Fee: $50 per person, includes race entry, T-shirt, and post race party. All proceeds benefit the FDNY Tri team and the Achilles Freedom Team. 4. 7th Annual BC Matthew Ryan Memorial Golf Outing
The 7th Annual BC Matthew Ryan Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at the Holbrook Country Club, Holbrook, Long Island, NY. 9 am Sign-In - 10 am Shotgun Start. The cost of $165 per golfer includes event shirt, green fees, golf cart, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and open bar. 5. John Jay College Tuition Reimbursement Fall 2009
REMINDER: As per Dept Order #61 the Department is offering a tuition reimbursement plan for all uniformed members who are registered for courses at John Jay College. To be eligible for reimbursement members must: 1. download form John Jay-Notification of Registration for Fall 2009 Semester (JJ-1) from the Intranet forms section. 2. complete form JJ-1 and mail or fax the form to the FDNY College Advisor by September 25th, 2009. 3. receive a grade of C or better in their selected course(s) and forward a copy of their transcript and proof of tuition payment to the FDNY College Advisor by January 15th, 2010. Any member who has received tuition funds from any other FDNY Scholarship Program is ineligible for any John Jay College tuition reimbursement for the Fall 2009 semester.
