NEW YORK -- Six people have been hurt in a fire in a Brooklyn building, and firefighters say some are in critical condition.

Firefighters say one person jumped out a sixth-floor window to escape the blaze. It broke out around 11:30 Friday night on the top floor of a six-story building on Albemarle Road, south of Prospect Park.

Firefighters say three of the victims were children. All six victims have been taken to local hospitals.
