A man was killed last night in a Bronx fire while another blaze in Brooklyn left five people injured - including a two-year-old child, authorities said.

The first blaze, which occurred at 1809 Albermarle Road in Brooklyn, sent a 14-year-old out of a sixth-story window in a bid to save his own life at about 11:30 p.m., authorities said.

"There was smoke and he jumped through the window," said neighbor Joy Brown. "He said that his mother and the baby were still inside. He said he had no choice."

The teen was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition. Three other adults were also taken to Kings County.

The baby was taken to Maimonides Hospital.

An hour later, a fire in The Bronx at 1105 Elder Avenue killed a man who was stuck inside his apartment when a blaze tore through his home.

Officials said both fires are under investigation.
