A Queens firefighter died of his injuries early yesterday after being hit by a car while crossing a Long Island highway, authorities said. David Minerley, 27, of Engine Co. 324 in Corona, had been crossing Route 110, apparently heading back to his room at the Hilton hotel in Huntington, just before 2 a.m., said Suffolk County Police Sgt. Steven Bluethgen. A 47-year-old male motorist heading north slammed into the Ozone Park resident. The unidentified driver was not charged with a crime, Bluethgen said. Minerley died at Plainview Hospital.
