1. UFA Scholarship Applications - Available 8/11
Applications and instructions for the UFA Scholarship Fund are now available on the UFA website: www.ufanyc.org. Deadline for submission is October 10, 2008.
2. FDNY Fire Family Transportation Motorcycle Run
REMINDER: On Saturday, August 23rd, arrive at 5:30am & depart at 7am sharp at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. The Motorcycle Run will go from NYC to Shanksville, PA. Proceeds will support the FDNY Fire Family Transportation Foundation and The Wounded Warriors. Registration: $40 for motorcycle & rider, $20 for passenger. The cost of tolls will be paid for registered motorcycles going westbound ONLY. The first 1,000 participants to register will receive a free Iron & Steel logo pin. 3. The Lt. John M. Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Lt. John M. Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Scholarship Fund will present ten $1,000 awards to full time college students who are children of active members of the Department. To be eligible, please send students name, address, and proof of enrollment in an accredited College or University, along with the name and unit of the member by September 1, 2008 to: Firefighter Richard Berkhout, E-298, 153-11 Hillside Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11432.
4. FDNY 9/11 Remembrance Hockey Tournament
On Monday, September 8th to Wednesday, September 10th, 8am-8pm, at the Aviator Sports Complex, Floyd Bennett Field in B'klyn, NY, the FDNY Hockey Team will organize this hockey tournament benefiting various FDNY charitable funds.
