1. UFA Scholarship Applications - Available 8/11
Applications and instructions for the UFA Scholarship Fund are now available on the UFA website: www.ufanyc.org. Deadline for submission is October 10, 2008.
2. 7th Annual Lt. Steve "Hangdown" Harrell Memorial Jam
REMINDER: Sunday, August 17th, 12 noon-7pm, at Nansen's Park, Staten Island located at 3465 Victory Blvd. A great day of family, music, and friends to honor a Brother who gave his life on 9/11. Donations: $40 for adults, $15 for children ages 6-14, kids under 6 are FREE. Includes 5 live bands, children's activities, full BBQ menu, refreshments and raffles. 3. FDNY Steuben Association Boat Ride
On Wednesday, August 20th, the annual Steuben Association Boat Ride for Firefighters, Nurses and friends will leave Pier 83 at West 42nd Street, Manhattan, aboard Circle Line Tours. Boarding begins at 7:30 pm; the cruise is from 8-11pm. Tickets: $40 in advance, $50 at the door if available, which includes the cost of the DJ, dancing, and an open bar (food service is available). 4. 7th Annual 9/11 Memorial Service
On Saturday, September 6th, 1pm at St Michael's Cemetery, located at 72-02 Astoria Blvd East Elmhurst Queens, a dedication of the First Responders Monument will be held. This year Tony LoBianco will be the guest speaker for the service to honor and respect the 76 Queens Firefighters, 37 Port Authority Police Officers, and the 23 Officers of the NYPD who died saving others.
5. Splish Splash Water Park UFA Discount Tickets
