One Dead, Seven Injured In Queens Fire

One person has died and seven others have been taken to hospitals after fire ravaged a three-story building in Queens.

Firefighters say the blaze happened in a building in Middle Village with a deli on the ground floor and apartments on the second and third floors.

The two-alarm fire was first reported at 7:36 a.m. Sunday.

One person was dead at the scene, three are in critical condition at area hospitals and four are in serious condition.

Six firefighters suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
