About 100 Firefighters Battle Upper East Side Fire

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Nearly 100 firefighters responded to a five story residential building fire on the Upper East Side Wednesday evening.

The fire at 319 90th Street near 2nd Avenue was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. Firefighters had the blaze under control about 30 minutes later.

Residents of the building noticed the smoke and were exacuated safely. No injuries were reported.

The apartment where the fire started was under construction, officials said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
