NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Firefighters pulled three young children and their grandmother out of a burning building in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 3:40 p.m. at 539 Central Avenue in Bushwick.

Fire officials say the hallways and stairwells were already filled with smoke when they arrived on the scene. Firefighters broke the child safety gates off of the windows and pulled the victims out.
