WTC Spirit Sails On

The USS New York, the newest warship of the Navy fleet, carries both the spirit - and steel - of Ground Zero.

The strongest point of the $850 million "San Antonio class" transport, christened yesterday in New Orleans, was forged from 7.5 tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center in 2003 to reinforce the ship's hull. Its motto painted on the side: "Never forget."
