Brooklyn Blaze Leaves 80-Year-Old Woman Dead

An 80-year-old woman was found dead at the scene of a Brooklyn house fire Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The woman was found lying unconscious after firefighters doused the blaze in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Ave., authorities said.

Emergency medical technicians later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

Police did not release the identity of the dead woman pending notification of relatives, authorities said. The cause is being investigated.
