NEW YORK (AP) -- Police are investigating a fire where a 20-year-old woman's body was found.

Firefighters have found the woman's body while responding to a fire in a Brooklyn home's basement.

Police say the woman has not been identified and that the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.

They say firefighters got to the building at about just before 9 p.m. Sunday after getting a 911 call about a basement fire. That's when they found the body.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire. A fire official says the basement blaze has been deemed suspicious in nature.
