A large fire that burned through a two-story building in Queens yesterday left a firefighter and a victim with serious injuries, fire officials said.
The fire department responded to the blaze on Roosevelt Avenue in the Jackson Heights section of Queens at about 2:30 p.m., fire officials said. Within 10 minutes, the fire had enveloped the building, causing the department to call for a second alarm.
A victim, who was seriously injured, was saved by firefighters; three of whom were also injured during the blaze, fire officials said. One of the firefighters sustained serious burns to his neck, fire officials said.
