Three firefighters were injured when a stairway collapsed during a blaze in a vacant building last night, officials said.

Firefighters had been conducting searches at the four-story building at Sutphin Boulevard and 95th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, which was under demolition, when a staircase collapsed, sending two men plummeting to the ground and leaving another dangling from the landing, sources said.

"One guy was banged up pretty good," said one firefighter who was at the scene. "The other guy broke his ankle."

The three injured firefighters were taken to Mary Immaculate and Jamaica hospitals.
