(Queens - WABC, September 20, 2007) - Firefighters got control of a raging 4-alarm house fire in Queens late Friday night.
The fire broke out at 128th Street and 22nd Avenue in College Point. Several people were injured -- residents and firefighters.
Eyewitness News reporter Jen Maxfield has the story.
We are told at least five people were injured: four firefighters being treated for smoke inhalation and one homeowner being treated for a broken leg after she and her family had to jump out a window to escape these ferocious flames from the 4-alarm house fire.
Firefighters attacked the blaze from every angle. This home where the fire started has been totally destroyed.
Angelica's aunt broke her leg in the desperate escape.
The fire that began in one house spread to another and at one point seemed to threaten the whole block.
"The electricity started popping and the whole block went out," a resident told us.
So far there's no word on the cause of the fire.
