Two People Killed in Queens House Fire

Two people died in a Queens house fire Sunday morning.

The fire was reported just before 7 a.m. in a two-story house in the South Ozone Park section, fire department officials said. The fire, which was first reported in the basement and the first floor, was declared under control by 8:45 a.m.

Firefighters recovered two bodies in the house, but the victims' identities had not been released pending family notification.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
