The Uniformed Firefighters Association announced Thursday it has overwhelmingly approved its new contract.
The 50-month deal is retroactive to June of 2002. It calls for a staffing agreement that will increase the number of five-man engine companies from 60 to 64, in addition to four years of pay raises.
The increases are 5 percent in each of the first two years, 3 percent in the third year and 3.15 percent in the final year.
The contract settlement was reached in October. The deal expires at the end of next July.
