Stephen Cassidy Re-Elected As President Of UFA

The president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association was re-elected Monday.

Firefighter Stephen Cassidy from Engine 236 in Brooklyn beat retiree Thomas Da Parma. Cassidy received 3,668 votes and Da Parma 3,008.

This is Cassidy's second term. He first took office on August 1st 2002.

Since then, Cassidy has clashed with both Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta over contract negotiations and response times.
