NEW YORK (AP) A 71-year-old man died in an apartment fire in the Bronx early Saturday, authorities said.

No one else was hurt in the blaze, said Tim Hinchey, a Fire Department spokesman.

The blaze started at about 1:43 a.m. inside apartment 9H at 3135 Park Avenue. It was under control less than half an hour later, after 60 firefighters reported to the scene.
