A fire erupted during an Easter Sunday Mass at a Woodside church, forcing congregants to flee, fire officials said. No was injured in the blaze, which was blamed on smoldering incense left in a garbage pail in a room off the main sanctuary, said firefighter Tim Hinchey, a spokesman for the FDNY. An off-duty firefighter attending the service at the Church of St. Teresa was credited with helping put out the blaze, using a fire extinguisher, Hinchey said. The firefighter was later aided by his on-duty colleagues. The fire was reported at about 12:30 p.m., during the service at the church, located at 50-20 45th St. Twelve units responded, bringing a total of 60 firefighters to the scene, Hinchey said.
