Little Mohammad Jabar was at home in Brooklyn yesterday, all excited about dressing up as a fireman for Halloween, when he looked across the Bay Ridge street to see a real fire truck pull up. Smoke was oozing out of a fourth-floor apartment at 805 86th St. and firefighters quickly stormed the building. Mohammad, 31/2, told his mom he wanted to join them. "I want to go help the firemen," Jenan Jaber, 30, quoted her tousled-haired son as saying. "I have the same clothes. I want to ride my truck." Jaber helped her son put on his yellow fire chief's hat and black slicker with neon reflector. He even held a plastic ax before jumping on his red scooter and trundling to within a safe distance of the fire. Fire officials said the fire started at 8:44 a.m. and was brought under control at 9:32. No one was home at the time, but two firefighters reported minor injuries. After the fire was extinguished, the firefighters hoisted Mohammad onto the truck and called him "Chief." Mohammad spent the rest of the day replaying everything that had happened. The siren went "woo, woo, woo," the youngster said, mimicking the noise that helped him fulfill a child's dream.
