A 12-year-old Brooklyn boy impaled his arm on a rusty, spiked metal fence yesterday afternoon, fire officials and witnesses said.

The youngster scaled a 6-foot-high fence on E. 21st St. in Flatbush, then lost his balance and fell onto the sharp spike of a second fence below, piercing his arm near the elbow, neighbors told the Daily News.

He screamed for help and several neighbors came running, they said.

"You could see 2 to 3 inches of spike sticking out of his arm," said Yvonne Roberts, 43, who dialed 911.

Firefighters from Rescue 2 sawed through the fence to free the boy, who was rushed to Kings County Hospital with part of the pole still stuck in his arm, witnesses said.

The victim, identified by neighbors as Dimitri Michelle, lives a few blocks away. His injury was not life-threatening, officials said.
