Eight residents and eight firefighters were injured when an early-morning fire raced through a Harlem apartment building, fire officials said.

The residents were treated at Harlem hospital for minor injuries. The firefighters were rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Pearl Brown, 64, a retired medical aide, said she was in her fourth-floor kitchen around 9:25 a.m. when she heard a "pop" in the living room. When she went to look, the room was engulfed in flames.
