A gas explosion in a two-story house in Brooklyn ripped the back of the building off yesterday and left a man burned over his entire body. Officials said the fiery horror at 94 Harmon Street in Bushwick was caused by a faulty gas connection made by an unlicensed plumber who worked on the building the night before. The gas accumulated over 12 hours and was ignited when a tenant turned on a stove to make breakfast. "The whole bathroom came down on me," said Charles Brown, who lives in the building. "I thought there was no way out. "I started kicking and kicking. Then I saw the light, and I knew I was going to make it." The blaze spread to two adjacent houses. Fire marshals and the Brooklyn district attorney are considering criminal charges against the plumber, officials said. Meanwhile, the Building Department said landlord Rachel Landau was issued five violations for illegal conversions to the building and improperly-done work. The building will have to be torn down. The 42-year-old victim was in critical condition with second- and third-degree burns to 100 percent of his body. Two other tenants were treated for smoke inhalation.
