Fire Broke Out At Nazareth Deliverance Spiritual Church Shortly After 4 a.m.

NEW YORK (AP) A three-alarm fire broke out in a church in upper Manhattan early Thursday, authorities said.

One firefighter was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a minor injury, according to Sean Johnson, a Fire Department spokesman.

About 138 firefighters responded to the blaze, which broke out at the Nazareth Deliverance Spiritual Church in the Hamilton Heights section shortly after 4 a.m.

The fire, at 72 Hamilton Terrace near West 141st Street, was brought under control at 5:34 a.m.
