THANK YOU
Our thanks to British Airways for donating a trip to England as part of a raffle fund-raising effort at the Queens Medal Day Collation. A tip of the helmet to Firefighter Jim Seaman, who won the vacation raffle and donated it to the family of medal winner Captain Vinny Fowler. Also, thanks to Firefighter John (Engine 4) McLoughlin, a medal winner who donated back his cash prizes totaling $700 to be split between the Burn Center and Thomas Elsasser Funds. John is in his final rotation year.

FDNY PENSION PRINTOUT - HOW MUCH ARE YOU WORTH?
We have been informed by the Pension Bureau that these annual printouts have a tentative target date of the pay period being issued on July 7. This delay has nothing to do with the recent pension enhancements. These printout calculations will be based on what was in effect as of 1/1/2000.

HALVERSEN PETITIONS PAY OFF
With 65-2 # 16 we enclosed a form letter that petitioned the N.Y.S. Parole Board to NOT release the convicted accomplice of the Jimmy Halversen murder (1997). It worked! The State officials received over 1,000 petitions from firefighters alone and the most they’ve received in total in recent memory. The UFA would like to thank the 1,000 members who took the time to fill out and mail this important petition. We will likely repeat this effort in two years.
