Member Interviews by Department

Reprint from joint UFA -UFOA statement: In an effort to provide the best representation and protection for our memberships, the UFA and UFOA are in the process of working with the Department to ensure that all interviews regarding the fatal fire on December 16, 2003, are carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible. We met with the Department on Friday, December 19, 2003 and were assured by the Commissioner and Chief of Department that these interviews are for informational and fact-finding purposes.

We believe that it is in the best interest of all members to offer full and complete cooperation and information during the interviews. To date, UFA and UFOA representatives have attended all interviews. To protect our respective memberships, this practice must continue. We have been apprised that re-interviews and potentially new interviews will occur and are necessary for a variety of reasons. Please contact your UFA or UFOA representative immediately if you are called for any interview or re-interview related to the fatal fire of 12/16/03 to ensure that a union representative is in attendance.
